Collapse was a project initiated by a brief for the RSA Young Design Awards, which developed into a technical foray into animation and music. The brief asked designers to respond conceptually to an excerpt of music through an accompanying piece of animation. Using the opportunity to experiment with programming point-cloud data in Cinema 4D, I collaborated with a contemporary dancer who choreographed her own movements in response to the concept I developed. Following the competition, I expanded the work into a personal project, collaborating with artists TD_Nasty and Sierre. The outcome was a track in which we used sound to express our subconscious reactions to the breakdown of movement in the video; transitioning from humanistic to mechanical while maintaining a smooth, streamlined element.
